If anyone has exposure or experience in either of these programs, in particular MGEM (which is quite new and has limited info online from alumni), I would greatly appreciate a little advice. More "pure" GIS, and appears to focus on technical skills in some more depth. ![]() ![]() ![]() No Masters designation but a very well-known and reputable program. Second is the BCIT Advanced Graduate Diploma in GIS.9-month course-based masters, with significant project proposal/project management components and a focus on applications to forestry/natural resources. First is the Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management at UBC.COVID has made me want to move out of frontline work hence my attempt at getting into GIS (to which I had some exposure in my undergrad and really enjoyed). My undergraduate degree was in Natural Resources management but I have been working as a paramedic and dispatcher for an ambulance service the last 7 years so really quite out of touch with my undergrad field. I am looking for some local input/advice as to which program might be the better choice between the two. I am considering a career switch into your industry, and have been accepted to the following two programs for next year.
